Last year around Fall, I blogged for 40 consecutive days sharing how I found joy in my life every day through my #40DaysOfJoy project. You all loved it. I had a blast doing it. After the project was over, I brought up the idea to my marketing coach (at the time) that I wanted to blog every day for a different cause since everything went so well.
She hated the idea. So I killed the plan.
It’s been about 5 months… I’ve since abandoned my blog (for the most part). To be frank, I don’t enjoy writing on my blog as much as my newsletter where I get to purge my heart and soul to my amazing community (aka Shinkickville) every Sunday. Most times I feel all that’s left to write on blogs are “How to” posts.
I HATE writing “How to” posts. No offense to those who do enjoy writing them, kudos to you. I should hire you to write for me.
What tickles my fancy is challenging myself to do something different. Stretch my imagination. Push myself out of my comfort zone. THEN, I’ll have something worth writing about.
So, today I’m breaking the rules. I’m choosing myself. I’m going to blog for 20 consecutive business days. Starting today. For the entire month of February. To celebrate the month of “Purification.” According to Wikipedia (if Wikipedia says it’s true, it must be) the Roman month Februarius was named after the Latin term februum, which means purification.
As I’m writing this, it’s already sounding like a stupid idea. But hell, I’ve got over 269 words written so far. So I might as well go through with this. Here goes nothing…
Day 1: Will one thing.
Purity of heart is to will one thing. – Soren Kierkegaard
Well, does this new blog project count? Sounds like a resounding yes from all of you. What about you?
